Best car scanner for Ev6?

I use Car Scanner with a OBDLink Cx dongle. Works like a charm and no risk of draining the 12 Volt battery as the OBDLink Cx automatically shuts down when the car is turned off.
And yes, you can still use Android Auto concurrently.

I use same set up and v happy
Thanks guys...I just ordered an OBD unit and downloaded the Car Scanner app.

Looking forward to more info on the vehicle's performance including health of the 12 volt battery.

Maybe I am one of the lucky ones, but I have not had any issues with this or the ICCU..after 38,000 K

You can also try to install a device called Battery Monitor - around $30-$40 on ebay / Amazon. This sits permanently across your 12V battery and you can monitor the battery health via Bluetooth on an android app. No risk of draining battery - I have one on my EV6 and one on my wife's ICE vehicle.

Gives you snaps like this... Dead flat was when car was being charged. Slow drop is from dashcam. Jumping is when I was driving

Connected the CarScanner and went through the custom items but can't see an option in the list of sensors to monitor the 12 volt battery voltage..

Am I missing something or doesn't the Ev6 provide this to the OBD Unit and is that why you also have to have the separate battery monitor unit..??

It's called [VCMS]Aux battery Voltage. Make sure you have loaded the EV6 profile.
Thanks for your tip.and information..I went back through the setup and found that I had missed a step so the configuration didn't include the correct profile.

Changed it to Ev6 and now all sensors are readable including the one for the 12 volt battery.

Kevoca sure is a great resource for information and configuration of vehicle accessory add ons

Once again, my gratitude for everyone bothering to assist by sharing their knowledge..

I'm curious - for the folks using the OBDLink Cx dongle - are you leaving it plugged in all the time - this seems very convenient for ABRP and other software that uses it, but don't want to exacerbate any possible 12V battery issues.

Mine stays in a fair bit (mainly because I forget) and it has not caused me any 12V issues. I also have a dashcam in 'parking mode' as I'm in an apartment carpark. I can see the 12V go down a bit during the night and then topped up from the big battery

So I'd say - its ok

I leave mine plugged and never had an issue. You can configure the sleep mode for the dongle through the OBDLink app. Mine is set to sleep after 300 secs of inactivity or if the voltage drops below 12 V.
